Samsung's Unpacked event to reveal the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is still a week away. But a new leak shared more details about the next generation of the foldable phone.

According to the leak, the technical specifications of the foldable smartphone, including detailed information about the new sub-screen camera, have become known.

And Samsung appears to have addressed several major frustrations with the first two versions of the Galaxy Z Fold. Which is significant because Samsung has been an industry leader when it comes to foldable devices like this one.

Meanwhile, these foldable devices come at a high price, which reflects the fact that AMOLED screens that you can curl up without breaking are still a cutting edge technology.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a 6.2-inch external screen with a resolution of 2268 x 832 pixels and a 7.6-inch foldable internal screen with a resolution of 2208 x 1768 pixels.

Both displays have a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling, and both use Gorilla Glass Victus.

This should make it more scratch-resistant, which is key because Samsung makes the Galaxy Z Fold 3 compatible with the S Pen.

The company had previously declined to support its stylus over concerns that the stylus tip could scratch previous versions of the softer internal screen.

As for the hinge itself, while the Galaxy Z Fold 2 apparently addressed the concerns of the original Galaxy Fold, Samsung is not letting any chance of problems this year.

According to the leak, the hinge of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has been tested to withstand up to 200,000 folds. This means that the phone can be opened and closed more than 100 times a day for five years.

Below the inner screen is a new selfie camera under the display. It is a first for the Galaxy Z Fold series.

Although there are some concerns about clarity because the sensors visualize through the AMOLED screen itself. But the specifications are strong.

The sensor is expected to be a 4-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. While there is a 10-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 lens slot in the front for use when closed.

The other camera offers a similar triple sensor array as seen from the Galaxy S21 series. This includes a 12-megapixel main lens with OIS and f/1.8 aperture, a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens with fixed focus, f/2.2 aperture and 123-degree field of view, and a 12-megapixel zoom lens with OIS and f/2.4 aperture.

The Snapdragon 888 is expected from Qualcomm inside, with 12GB of memory and 256GB or 512GB of storage. And the operating system is Android 11 with OneUI 3.1 from Samsung.

And there's 5G, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 802.11ax, and dual SIM support. And the 4,400 mAh battery should support fast wired charging and wireless charging. And Samsung still provides a fingerprint sensor.

Although the main specifications may be known. But the question that has yet to be confirmed is the cost of the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
